Christmas in Germany

Christmas in Germany is a three-day celebration. On Christmas Eve, family and friends gather for dinner and the opening of presents. Stores usually close around 1 or 2 p.m. and won’t open again until December 27. The first and second days of Christmas, December 25 and 26 (St. Stephan’s Day), are to be spent visiting or being visited by family.

The Social Media Saga of Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez

The award-winning Latina author of The Dirty Girls Social Club is fighting for her artistic life, and she is using social media to take the battle to Hollywood. Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez claims that the TV adaptation script of her series for NBC is “racist and sexist.” Ironically, Latina Ann Lopez, the ex-wife of comedian George Lopez, has a one-year option to adapt the book for TV.
