Being Latino and Form Event-Promotion Partnership to Begin In Four Major Latino Markets

New York/Chicago (January 4, 2012) Being Latino, one of the nation’s leading Latino community and social media platforms, has partnered with ( , a multi-city event and entertainment marketing brand targeted at the new generation of English dominant Latinos. Through this new partnership Being Latino and will co-promote local networking events in major Latino markets including Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C.

“Partnering with makes great sense for us. We have an outstanding online presence and needed a company like to partner with us in bringing that presence to the Latino markets,” said founder Lance Rios.

Founded in 2009, Being Latino and its 145 sister Facebook fan pages represent more than 150,000 fans combined on Facebook alone.  The community platform also counts on a growing following through the Being Latino Online Magazine ( as well as through other social media platforms including YouTube and Twitter.

“There is a natural fit to both our audience and mission,” said president, Jose Cruz. “Being Latino has been an innovator in the growing social networking community establishing a national presence. The next step is to create events on a local level where this community can meet and engage in person.”

Cruz brings two decades of experience in outreach and communications with the national Latino community. Starting in the Clinton White House and having worked on three presidential campaigns, he is the founder of the pro-immigration reform National Political Action Committee ImmigrationPac ( and in 2010 served as Senior Director of Civic Engagement for  the National “Ya Es Hora – ¡Hágase Contar!” campaign promoting the Census to the Latino community.
