FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BEING LATINO, INC. PARTNERS WITH LAS FOTOS PROJECT

In a continued commitment to expand their philanthropic efforts, the Being Latino blog has partnered with Las Fotos Project to bring the Being Latino audience a new, bi-monthly photography series.

The Las Fotos Project is an L.A.-based non-profit organization whose mission is “Empowering Latina teenagers through the art of photography.” Eric V. Ibarra, founder of the Las Fotos Project, says, “This collaboration will serve as a platform for Las Fotos Project participants to have their voices heard by allowing them to share their life experiences with the inspiring community that is Being Latino, Inc.“

While the Being Latino blog currently offers occasional photo journalism posts, this collaboration will be an extension of that, adding variety in the form of youthful perspective.

Being Latino President Lance Ríos says of the collaboration, “I am very excited for Being Latino, Inc. to be part of Las Fotos Project. When Being Latino’s Executive VP of Blogger Relations, Libby Julia, connected with Eric V. Ibarra of Last Fotos Project, the two knew that this was an obvious fit. After bringing the issue to the table and some discussion, we were both amped to grow the partnership.”

“This partnership marks the first official partnership Being Latino, Inc. has secured with another organization focusing solely on empowering Latina teens. We look forward to 2011 being a year of new partnerships with other National Latino-based organizations focusing on empowering Latinos of various backgrounds.“

This new series will launch the week of January 10, 2011.
