BEING LATINO, INC. AND HISPANICIZE PARTNER TO CREATE THE NATION’S MOST INFLUENTIAL LATINO SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNITY PLATFORM

#BeLatino launched as new Twitter hashtag for Latino issues and conversations

MIAMI, FL (August 31, 2011) –Being Latino, one of the leading Latino community and social media platforms in the U.S. and publisher of Being Latino Online Magazine, has partnered with social media content and blogger marketing platform, Hispanicize. The partnership immediately combines the communities and resources of two of the most influential and innovative Latino social media entities in the nation.

“This is a great fit for Being Latino because Hispanicize is committed to our vision for building a positive, progressive platform for Latinos to engage in online,” said Lance Rios, who remains Being Latino’s CEO and will now be a partner in Hispanicize. “Through Hispanicize we will be able to expand our platform’s scope while also accelerating our growth.”

The companies also announced the creation of a new Twitter hashtag, #BeLatino, that will be heavily promoted through the Being Latino, Hispanicize and Latina Mom Blogger platforms to facilitate discussion and unify the diverse Latino voices online.

The Being Latino community will now also become a focal point of the unprecedented Latino Social Media for Social Good national initiative that Hispanicize launched earlier this year with Univision Network.
