When authorities support hate crimes

It is unfortunately a sad reality that some people abuse their positions of authority (or that of their family members) in order to show their support of hate crimes. The latest victims Johnny and Lisa Bonta, a Native Family from the Reno Sparks Indian Colony, when they were attacked at a gas station in Fernley, Nevada on May 24.

After being attacked with baseball bats, knives and a crowbar not only did they not receive any help from the responding officers, but Johnny Bonta was arrested and detained at the police station without any medical treatment of his wounds.

Any type of violence is infuriating, even more so when people feel that they cannot trust authorities to do what is right. To make your voice heard, you can do the following:
