While reading through Hill Harperâs book, âThe Conversation,â I couldnât help but dwell on one particular observation. He points out that nowadays females are taught a different sort of independence, one thatâs slowly making men obsolete. Although this hardback is labeled a ârelationship bookâ geared specifically towards the African-American audience, his words are beyond mere romantic guidance and ring true for society as a whole.
Music is the very air I breathe and cannot live without. This is very true of musicians who not only dream in music but can hear it in their everyday lives. Some of the greatest legends of our Latin music felt the same; music was their life and couldnât live without it. This morning myspace.com has announced that they officially have their NEW look.  Many feel that this ‘makeover’ is a desperate attempt to gain back a large audience that has been lost to Facebook.com.
Personally, I’m not sure if this is going to get me to switch over to myspace instead of Facebook, but I must admit, the new layout is definitely more user friendly than it was before.
They’ve gone LIVE this morning in hopes that their promo video (below) will insight some curiosity among potential users.

Last week a Republican supported group, Latinos for Reform, caused outrage with their âDonât Voteâ adtelling Latinos to not vote in the November elections. Considering the history of voting rights in this country, voting is more than a right. It is an obligation.
Recently, I had an encounter with a police officer that reminder me that, regardless of how I see myself as a person, this society continues to see me first and foremost as âLatinaâ or âHispanic.â
I was driving under a lot of traffic and, somehow, ended on the wrong lane (almost missing the entrance to a tunnel I needed to take). Traffic was slow, at a stand still, so I managed to squeeze into the lane I needed to be in. A police officer, directing traffic on the other side, took notice of my violation.
